Colleges are looking for students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, leadership, and insight. Every student has an amazing story to tell, but they often lack the perspective to express themselves clearly. Our Essay Plus Package might be right for your student if you have a rising senior with a clearly defined major and a list of possible colleges. Our encouragement inspires them to feel more confident developing compelling essays and sharing their unique voice and experiences.

Essay Plus Package (15 hours):

This package is the most cost-effective way to tackle the UC, Common Application, and/ or Coalition Application essays and get some individual college advising as well.

We start with a transcript and college list review to identify goals and objectives. Next, review the student’s college list and make sure they have a balanced list of colleges. Then, we have a brainstorming session to review the eight UC PIQs (if applicable) and/ or the six Common Application Essay prompts. We discuss each essay's possible responses and then choose the strongest options. Then, we discuss the structure and organization. Then, at home, the student drafts an essay, and in the next meeting, we spend the hour-long session editing and revising that draft. We repeat this process a few more times. Then, we run the essay through Grammarly for final suggestions and edits. After completing the four UC Essays, we weave together two of the student’s UC essays into a Common Application Personal Statement. Occasionally, we do the process in reverse if a student comes to us with a strong Common Application Essay draft.

One-on-one Zoom sessions allow students to share their ideas and get personal feedback and guidance in a supportive manner. Creating standout essays often takes multiple sessions of revision. Together, we discuss ways to clarify and strengthen them.
